Colonel-General Alexander Lentsov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, has been appointed commander of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh since April 25. About it says in the information bulletin of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, published on Wednesday, April 26.
Lentsov replaced Major General Andrei Volkov. He has served as commander of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh since January 2022.
The Ministry of Defense reported that the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation continues to perform tasks in the territory of Karabakh. At 30 observation posts round-the-clock monitoring of the situation is carried out. No ceasefire violations have been recorded over the past 24 hours.
The peacekeepers conducted patrols along three routes in Mardakert, Martuni and Shusha regions. Engineer-sapper groups continue demining objects and terrain.
