A project has been submitted to the State Duma that provides for a collection from visitors to cafes, restaurants and nightclubs for additional support for participants in a special operation in Ukraine, as well as their families. This was announced on Wednesday, May 17th.

The document was submitted to the lower house of parliament by deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Mikhail Matveev and Vyacheslav Markhaev, writes RIA News. He introduces a restaurant fee, which will have to pay adult visitors. The fee is 1% of the invoice amount. In this case, the specified amount is not included in the cost of services rendered by the institution.

According to the project, the fee will be transferred by institutions to the federal budget, and then sent to the state fund to support participants in the NWO “Defenders of the Fatherland”.

“Charging a restaurant fee does not cause a negative public outcry from visitors, since its collection is an insignificant part of the check (the percentage of tips in restaurants is much higher), but it will create a positive effect throughout the country in helping NWO participants and their families,” it is specified in an explanatory note.

On the preparation of a draft law on the restaurant fee became known last week. Deputy Mikhail Matveev called it “a tax on entertainment.” He believes that this is not a burdensome extra charge for citizens.
