Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to consider providing subsidized mortgages to college teachers who have been selected under the Professionalism project. Text of the order of the head of state published Tuesday, May 2, on the Kremlin website.

“To the Government of the Russian Federation: to consider the issue of providing preferential mortgage loans to teaching staff of educational organizations implementing educational programs of secondary vocational education, selected within the framework of the federal project “Professionality,” the text of the instruction states.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin must report on the work done by October 1, the document says.

The Professionality project has been operating in Russia since September 1, 2022. It is planned to allocate about 30 billion rubles from the federal budget until 2024 for its implementation. They want to increase the number of students participating in the project to 350 thousand people in 2023, and by 2028-2029 it is planned to train 1 million specialists.

At the end of March, it was reported that Russia could introduce subsidized mortgages for employees of the defense industry. This measure was proposed in exchange for the plans of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation to provide preferential mortgages to officials.
